Rachel O’Mahony RVN

Rachel joined her first veterinary practice in 2017, starting as a VCA before progressing to a student nurse in 2019. She qualified in 2021, making the move into referral nursing 4 months after qualifying and specialising as an Oncology nurse for 18 months. Rachel then returned to general practice for just under two years before joining Movement in April 2025.

Rachel joined Movement keen for a new challenge and a chance to learn and develop her nursing skills in a specialist environment. Patient care and anaesthesia are two of her favourite areas of nursing; she loves to provide the best nursing care for each patient, treating them as if they are her own pets during their time in the hospital. Rachel is currently working towards her Nursing Certificate in Anaesthesia, which she is due to finish in November 2025. Rachel is also very keen on promoting cat-friendly practice and has a real soft spot for her feline patients.

When not at work, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband and their two springer spaniels, Fern and Goose, taking their camper van around the UK. She also loves spending time with her two cats, George and Estie.
