It is an exciting time to join Movement Referrals. Movement Referrals is a new independent provider of Specialist referral services in veterinary orthopaedics, neurosurgery, and neurology, operating from a brand-new facility at Preston Brook, near Runcorn in the Northwest of England (Junction 11, M56). The practice is led by a team of experienced Specialists supported clinically by a team of nurses and interns. Our focus is to offer the best treatment possible to pets, and the best experience possible to owners and veterinary professionals. Job Purpose/Summary:
The Receptionist will be responsible for the delivery of an excellent, client-focused service to Movement Referrals’ clients, visitors, and employees.
The Receptionist is responsible for attending to clients and dealing with enquiries on the phone and face to face. They are responsible for undertaking administrative work, supporting the Veterinary Team and Practice Manager, and for maintaining the reception area and consultation rooms’ standards of hygiene and presentability.
The successful candidate will ensure an excellent, friendly, and efficient service is provided to Movement Referrals’ clients, visitors, and employees. They must deliver an enthusiastic, professional, and modern impression of our company at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greeting all people entering the building.
- Checking patients in and notifying the veterinary team of people’s arrivals. Update the pet’s status once checked in.
- Answering the telephone, screen, and direct calls accordingly. Take and relay messages and provide information to callers in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Registering new patients.
- Dealing professionally and politely with queries from owners and other veterinary professionals.
- Undertaking general administrative and clerical support, including, but not limited to, preparing notices, letters, and documents.
- Processing referrals request and bookings patients accordingly.
- Liaising with GP vet practices to acquire patients’ history ahead of appointment.
- Processing insurance claims.
- Reporting clients’ and visitors’ feedback when appropriate
- Working with Practice manager to improve clients’ experience upon arriving at Movement Referrals.
- Handling medication prepared by the veterinary surgeon and handing to clients.
- Taking Payments
- Ensuring the reception area is tidy, clean, and presentable at all times.
- Fulfill any other tasks or duties that may be required from time to time.

Knowledge & Experience
- Previous experience of working as a Veterinary receptionist.
- Veterinary Receptionist: 2 years (preferred)
- Customer Service: 3 years (preferred)
- Experience of working within a team
- Knowledge and experience of using a PMS – Ezyvet an advantage.
Qualifications, training, and education
- Minimum expectation of GCSE Maths/English or equivalent.

Veterinary Neurologist (Uttoxeter)

Movement Referrals (Uttoxeter) will be a brand new independent neurology and orthopaedic Specialist veterinary clinic.
We are looking for a keen, dynamic neurology Specialist who will integrate enthusiastically with a new team to build a first-class service. This position would be well-suited to an individual driven to develop and refine their neurosurgical skills in a supportive environment with an experienced team. It would also suit an experienced neurosurgeon, seeking to improve client access to advanced procedures in our region.
We will have in-house 1.5T MRI and 32 slice CT with three large, purpose-built theatres.
We will offer comprehensive support packages for professional development. You will join our experienced Specialist team with the potential for a leadership role within the neurology department in the future.
Essential criteria:
- Board certified or eligible veterinary neurologist
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Desirable criteria:
- Experience in research and publication
- Clinical governance experience
- Independence in basic neurosurgery
