Facilities

We have two referral centres (Northwest and Midlands), both equipped to the same high standard, with new equipment throughout.

Reception

Our reception areas and waiting rooms are clean, bright and comfortable. Our reception teams will book clients in efficiently and clients can have a coffee or other hot drink whilst settling in. We aim to start appointments promptly. Our appointments for first consultations are 45 minutes so there is plenty of time to discuss your pet’s problem with one of our Specialists.

Prep room

At the centre of our clinical facilities are our bright, modern ‘prep rooms’. This is a room where patients are gently and compassionately prepared for sedation and anaesthesia

X-ray rooms

Our digital X-ray suites are modern and spacious. Dogs and cats generally need to be sedated or anaesthetised for X-rays so that they will lie still; the law prevents us holding animals for X-rays so that our team members are not exposed to radiation unnecessarily. Our digital system produces an X-ray image in 2-3 seconds so we can be very efficient.

CT scanners

Our new Siemens CT scanners at each site allow us to scan limbs and spines with fine resolution and exquisite detail. CT scanning is often used to investigate disease of some joints such as the elbow and also for spinal conditions such as slipped discs in some small dogs.

MRI scanners

Both our sites have Canon 1.5 Tesla high-field MRI scanners which allow us to get excellent images of brain and spinal cord with a large field of view. Dogs and cats need to be anaesthetised for MRI because the scans can take 30-60 minutes, depending on the precise sequences that are needed.

Operating theatres

At each site, we have three spacious operating theatres equipped with excellent surgical lighting, piped gases, integrated surgical suction, and extensive anaesthetic monitoring equipment. We use software called ‘Vet Radar’ to record everything that is done to our patients and to record their vital parameters during anaesthesia. We have an extensive range of equipment for orthopaedic and neurosurgery.

Arthroscopy

We have new Arthrex 4HD arthroscopy stacks which allows our surgeons to see inside joints with amazing clarity and to operate very precisely. Arthroscopy is commonly used in the shoulder, elbow and stifle (knee) joints
