ECVN Neurology Residency (Uttoxeter)

Movement Referrals is a dynamic, specialist-led veterinary group dedicated to advancing excellence in neurology and orthopaedics. Following the successful opening of our Midlands hospital in Uttoxeter, we are now looking to expand our neurology team with the addition of a second ECVN-approved neurology resident.

This is a rare opportunity to train within a highly ambitious and supportive team, committed to delivering gold-standard patient care while fostering a positive, collaborative, and energising working environment.

You’ll be based at our Uttoxeter hospital, , with a third neurologist joining that site in August 2025.

Movement Referrals is proudly independent and owned entirely by specialists: Mark Lowrie (Neurology), Mark Morton, Ben Walton, John Innes, and Brian Beale (Orthopaedics). Essential Criteria:

  • Completion of a minimum of two years in general practice or a one-year rotating internship.
  • Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, team-focused mindset.
  • A good sense of humour — we take our work seriously, but we enjoy the journey too.

Desirable Qualities:

  • Drive to develop as a specialist and grow within a fast-moving, forward-thinking team.
  • Passion for neurology and a genuine interest in contributing to service innovation and clinical development.

Our purpose-built hospitals are equipped with advanced imaging (in-house 1.5T MRI and 32-slice CT), and three large theatres. Uttoxeter offers an ideal blend of countryside charm and transport connectivity, with the Peak District on the doorstep and major cities within easy reach.

Veterinary Neurologist (Uttoxeter)

Movement Referrals (Uttoxeter) will be a brand new independent neurology and orthopaedic Specialist veterinary clinic.

We are looking for a keen, dynamic neurology Specialist who will integrate enthusiastically with a new team to build a first-class service. This position would be well-suited to an individual driven to develop and refine their neurosurgical skills in a supportive environment with an experienced team. It would also suit an experienced neurosurgeon, seeking to improve client access to advanced procedures in our region.

We will have in-house 1.5T MRI and 32 slice CT with three large, purpose-built theatres.

We will offer comprehensive support packages for professional development. You will join our experienced Specialist team with the potential for a leadership role within the neurology department in the future.

Essential criteria:

  1. Board certified or eligible veterinary neurologist
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills

Desirable criteria:

  1. Experience in research and publication
  2. Clinical governance experience
  3. Independence in basic neurosurgery
