Our Industry Partners

At Movement Referrals, we have a number of key collaborators. Our valued third party partners help us deliver high-quality services. We acknowledge them here for your interest:

Fusion Implants

Fusion Implants is a University of Liverpool spin-out company which researches, designs and manufactures implants for veterinary orthopaedics. Their particular expertise is in 3D-printing in metal (so-called additive manufacturing) and also in 3D-printed drill guides to assist accurate placement of drill holes in the skeleton.

Our history with Fusion Implants goes back to when both Ben Walton and John Innes were working at University of Liverpool and connected with engineers Professor Chris Sutcliffe, Dan Jones and colleagues. Fusion Implants products such as the Humeral Intracondylar Repair System (HIRS) and the Lateral Epicondylar Anatomical Plate (LEAP) were both a result of this collaboration.

Movement co-Director, Ben Walton, works with Fusion Implants as their Clinical R&D lead which allows both parties to be responsibly innovative.

Veterinary Tissue Bank

Veterinary Tissue Bank is Europe’s only tissue transplant supplier for veterinary surgery. After blood, bone is the most transplanted tissue, and bone grafts are very useful in a range of surgeries. Bone grafts help fractures to heal, and help with fusion of joints or vertebrae.

In dogs and cats, it can be challenging to harvest bone graft from the patient themselves because they do not have much tissue to give away. It is preferable to provide processed, donated bone and this is what Veterinary Tissue Bank can provide.

The process starts with a donation programme, based on similar principles and ethics to human tissue and organ donation. One donation can provide help for several pets in need. You can find out more about the process of donation here.
