Melissa Gaskell

Melissa Gaskell has 6 years of experience in the veterinary profession. Before working in the veterinary field, Mel completed her degree in BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare at Harper Adams University. Mel applies her combined knowledge of animal behaviour and different medical conditions/ailments to provide an excellent standard of care to patients.
Mel’s veterinary career started at a specialist referral centre in the NW of England in 2017 as a Laboratory Technician/Animal Care Assistant. Working in the lab allowed Mel to develop her understanding of complex diseases and how vets apply diagnostic techniques to help form diagnoses. Mel worked weekend shifts as part of the Inpatient Care Team which involved caring for patients with a wide array of ailments that were staying in the hospital wards. After 4 years of working primarily as the Lab Technician, Mel moved to the Oncology department where she learned to safely help with chemotherapy, assisting with ultrasounds, and overall caring for oncology patients.
Mel joined Movement Referrals in November 2023 and loves being in a close-knit team that all work exceptionally well together. Mel is eager to develop her orthopaedic and neurology knowledge further.
