Orthopaedic Surgeon

RCVS Specialist Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics)

Mark was born and raised in Liverpool. He graduated from Liverpool Veterinary School in 2006, initially working in general practice in Mold, North Wales. He spent the next nine years at Davies Veterinary Specialists, a large Specialist Referral Centre in Hertfordshire, completing a rotating internship followed by a residency in small animal orthopaedic surgery. He remained there as an orthopaedic surgeon before moving back to the North West in 2016. Mark’s research interests include Achilles tendon injuries. He developed a new surgical technique for these injuries using an implant developed for a similar technique in people. Mark was the initiator and clinical lead for the RCVS Knowledge Canine Cruciate Registry, a national project to measure outcomes for this common condition in dogs. Mark is happy to accept referrals in all aspects of orthopaedic surgery.
