Rhian Griffiths-Jones has worked for over 21 years in clinical practice, she started her career as a student veterinary nurse in a large mixed practice in Aberystwyth where she qualified as an RVN, she then relocated to north Wales where she transferred over to the referral side of nursing, initially as a locum and for the past 15 years within another large multidisciplinary referral hospital, where she became head theatre and anaesthesia RVN, whilst in this position she gathered extensive experience supporting complex surgical cases whilst working alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver high standards of patient care.
Rhian holds a Diploma in small Animal Advanced Veterinary Nursing, a Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care, and an Exotic Nursing Certificate, reflecting her strong commitment to continued professional development and clinical excellence. She has a particular passion for surgical nursing and anaesthesia, valuing the precision, vigilance, and teamwork required to ensure safe and effective perioperative care.
Outside of clinical practice, Rhian lives on a small holding with her husband and young family, rearing sheep and calves in the Welsh hills. She also enjoys running, reading and attending her local sewing group weekly allowing her to exercise her creative side, often creating fun scrub caps for her colleagues. Rhian joined movement referrals in November 2025, she was keen to get back into hands on nursing and redevelop her anaesthesia and surgical skills, whilst also learning new imaging skills by running the MRI and CT scanner. Rhian felt there was a great appeal to join a smaller more focused based team that work brilliantly together, and wanted to focus on expanding her knowledge of orthopaedic and neurology further, taking her down a more specialised path of nursing.
